In September 1895, nine Masons held a meeting in a dentist's office in the Village of Wauwatosa.  They adopted a resolution to apply for a dispensation to start a lodge in the community immediately west of Milwaukee.  Twenty-six Mason's signed the petition for the dispensation.  At the time, Kilbourn Lodge was the closest lodge and it consented to the formation fo the new lodge.  Grand Master W.W. Perry issued the dispensation in October 1895.  Perry visited the new lodge and reported to the Grand Lodge that he found them "Well skilled, true and trusty."

     The Grand Lodge granted a charter to Wauwatosa Lodge No. 267 in June 1896, with Dr. M.H. Fisk as the first Master and Theodore Grover and J. E. Bossingham as the Wardens.  The lodge considered renting space in the Good Templars Hall, but in November 1985 it rented a room in the Lefeber Building from the Knights of Pythias.  In 1907, Wauwatosa became a city, and the lodge moved to the Ditmar Block, the location of Robertson Hardware in September that year.

     In 1910, Wauwatosa Lodge bought a lot on Wauwatosa Avenue (North 76th Sreet).  for several years, Fred Stevens (for whom the dineing room was later named) and others worked on a building committee.  The ground breaking was in early December 1917, and it took a year to complete the construction.  The lodge held its first meeting in the new building in January 1919 and continued to meet there until the sale of the building to Irsih Fest in 1993.  In 1934 , the lodge abolished smoking in the ldoge room.

     At various times oveer the years, the Wauwatosa Masonic building had been the temporary home of the local Methodist, Congregational, Lutheran and Episcopal churches, all of which now have fine building of their own.  Four Past Mastr of the Lodge Herbert Mount, Carl Garney, Carl Wussow and Michael A. DeWolf have served as Grand Master of Masons in Wisconsin.
